I tried different okonomiyaki shops during our visit and I think Hazeya is the best. Very good taste and service. It’s also few minutes walk from our hotel. I will definitely come again.

Wow, what a friendly greeting, typical of the type of small cafe/restaurant. Great food, really cold beer, and the theatre that goes with cooking. A small place but really popular with locals.

Absolutely loved this place. Wandered down after realising another recommended place near the memorial park wasn't going to get any less massive-queuey any time soon. So glad we did. We sat at the 'counter' and watched the magic happen. There's an English menu and lots of interesting topping options. The food when it came was incredible. And the two guys cooking were so lovely - they practised their English a bit with us and were thrilled with my boyfriend's use of bits of Japanese. All in, a brilliant lunch experience.

Went here last night and think I’ll have to go again tonight because it was fantastic! Was seated at the bar and watched as they cooked my Okonomiyaki and then they served it on the hot plate too. Really wonderful staff who were very helpful. Not speaking Japanese wasn’t a barrier in the slightest. Amazing.

Just go. Awesome okonomiyaki. Some people may be smoking inside in case that bothers you.

Found this place on a whim using Google Maps and it was well worth the walk in the rain!We arrived just before closing time and the owner welcomed us into his shop and made us amazing food with good conversation!Must try!

A great place to eat Okonomiyaki and have a cool draft beer on a hot and humid day. The place has a buzzing atmosphere with the many local business men visiting after work to watch baseball which plays in the background. There is a short and simple menu available in English which makes ordering easy. I would recommend going with the Soba + green onion + garlic with a cool draft beer or a ginger ale!

A Hiroshima classic with lovely staff

Excellent Hiroshima okonomiyaki made right in front of you teppanyaki-style. The restaurant is small and cozy. They have English menus available and seem quite foreigner-friendly. We had a wonderful meal and would come back again. The food was delicious and we avoided the massive line at the other famous okonomiyaki place a few streets over.

I spent hours online trying to decide where to eat Hiroshima Okinimiyaki. I'm glad I chose here. They may not speak much English, but they do have a simple English menu, which is all you need. Okinimiyaki should be simple! The staff are super friendly, especially if you greet them with a little Japanese. I ordered and asked to take photos in Japanese to which they were impressed and greatful. They invited me to take some great snaps while cooking which I appreciated. I'd definitely go back and would recommend this place to everyone traveling to Hiroshima. One of the best Okinimiyaki I've ever had!

Amazing place for okonomiyaki - the best I have had in Japan, by far. The staff here are so incredibly nice! I visited last year, and again this year - making a trek almost solely for the okonomiyaki - and the staff even remembered me! I will absolutely be back, even if it means going out of my way.

Authentic local styled okonomiyaki which tasted delicious! And great value for 750 yen where you can simply order one for sharing. What's not to like?! You can choose specific toppings i.e. squid, prawn. My recommendation would be to go for the soba style (noodles inside the egg) and ask for the English menu. I doubt you will find any tourist here on a given day so (good for you!) - you get to experience the local scenes all for yourself! I would say order the high ball to complement your food, and probably give the oysters a miss as there are better options elsewhere. Enjoy!

Really amazing hiroshima style okonomiyaki. They have a lot of toppings to chose from and you can have the okonomiyaki vegetarian as well. We also had oysters in butter - super delicious. Make sure to come before 9pm, that’s when the kitchen closes!

This restaurant had good reviews and we wanted to try the hiroshima okonomiyaki... service was good and ordering smoothly with English menu and helpful staff. We added some extra green and the dish was delivered quickly.. taste was okay but I have to admit that the okonomiyaki made in Osaka and Kyoto is tastier. It is a matter of personal taste of course...

First stop in Hiroshima and Hazeya sets the bar high with it's Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki. Cheap too!

What a great restaurant! Very friendly staff even though we didn't speak Japanese with English menu available. Food was well priced and delicious. (We had okonomiyaki in Tokyo which was nothing compared to this). Various topping choices available. Portions were large and we ordered a side of oysters which was delicious too! Would definitely recommend if you're in the area

This is an excellent place to taste the famous Japanese Okonomyaki. Actually the people are so friendly that they offer us a Japanese sparkling wine after eating the so tasty Okonomyaki with shrimps. All dishes has price around 800 yens. I strongly recommend this place.

If you want to have great Hiroshima okonomiyaki with the locals, skip out on the touristy locations and come here. The food was delicious and all the people there were having a good time. It was the most welcoming experience we have had in Japan. Go carp!

Cozy atmosphere, small neighborhood Hiroshima specialty Okonomiyaki. Friendly staff and English menus a plus! I highly recommend adding an extra on top of the standard, shrimp, octopus or even cheese, everything gives the meal a different flavor. For spice lovers, use the chilli flakes liberally, great addition.

Lovin it. Authentic place with delicious food. English menu, lot of locals, baseball, great beer and sake and amazing food for good money!

Hazeya was the first place we ever tried okonomiyaki. No other okonomiyaki has stood up to Hazeya. Every other shop has fallen short of the wonderful hiroshimayaki that was served here. I'm so sad I can't go back!

The best okonomiyaki i have had. English menu and they know enough English for non Japanese speakers.
